Domestic Assault, Jan. 20

News release from the Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office. On January 17, 2016, at about 0510 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to 17441 Hwy 42, Myrtle Point, Coos County Oregon, for a reported physical domestic dispute between 20 year old Briannah Snead and her husband, 21 year old Zach Snead. Zach Snead left the residence prior to the deputy’s arrival. Deputies contacted Briannah Snead who was obviously emotionally upset, she had visible physical injury on her neck, top her head and thighs. Ms. Snead reported that her husband Zach came home intoxicated, woke her up and started calling her names, and assaulting her because there was no food prepared. She reported that Zach punched her in the head and mouth and then choked her to the point she could not breathe. Their 4 week old son was present when this assault took place. Briannah Snead reported that when she attempted to call 911 her husband took the phone from her and told her she was not calling anyone. The 911 dispatcher re-called the home and when Zack Snead learned that Law Enforcement was notified and responding he again assaulted his wife Briannah by choking her and punching her. At this point Mr. Snead took their 4 week old son Zane, a rifle and left the house driving his truck while visibly intoxicated. At about 0843 hours Sheriff’s Deputies located Zach Snead in his vehicle on Myrtle Creek Road in the Bridge Area east of Myrtle Point and he was arrested and transported to the Coos County Jail on above mentioned charges. Their son was returned unharmed to his mother.
