On January 5th, 2016, at about 1:50 a.m., the Sheriff’s Office took a report of a stolen vehicle from the Loves Travel Shop on Grant Smith Road. A 44 year old female victim reported that her 2010 Chevrolet Camaro was stolen from the parking lot while she went into the travel center. At about 4:55 a.m., the vehicle was located parked on Roberts Mountain Road by the Winston Police Department. When the officer attempted contact, one male subject ran into the brush and the vehicle drove south bound at a high rate of speed. A Sheriff’s Deputy, who was approaching from the north, stopped his patrol vehicle on Roberts Mountain Road. The suspect vehicle struck the deputy’s vehicle and then continued south bound. A short distance down the road, the vehicle stopped and the occupants fled on foot. The deputy was not injured. Officers from the Sheriff’s Office, Winston Police Department, Myrtle Creek Police Department, Oregon State Police and a K-9 unit from the Roseburg Police Department responded to the scene. The male driver, Keith Fullbright, age 24 from Oakland, Oregon, and female passenger, Nakita Pierce, age 26 from Roseburg, were found hiding in dense brush, about 50′ from the vehicle, and were taken into custody. Both subjects had valid warrants for their arrest. Pierce was found to be in possession of a controlled substance. Fullbright was charged with Unauthorized Use of a Vehicle, Attempt to Elude, Attempted Assault II, Attempted Assault on a Police Officer, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle and Criminal Mischief II. Pierce was charged with Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine and Possession of a Stolen Vehicle.
