WHERE: Salmon Harbor Marina Activity Center, 263 Marina Way, Winchester Bay, OR; WHEN: Tuesday and Wednesday, March 11th and 12th, 7:45 a.m. to 5:00p.m.; WHO: Alaska Marine Safety Education Association (AMSEA); Contact: Steve Kee–541-756-9224 or steven.w.kee@uscg.mil This course is offered at no cost to commercial fishermen to meet training required by 46 CFR 28.270. Students will learn emergency procedures and the use of safety equipment aboard commercial fishing vessels to allow them to conduct effective drills. This class will be physically demanding, including timed immersion suit donning, entering the water and climbing into a life raft, starting dewatering pumps, putting out fires, etc. Preregistration is required, and space is limited. All commercial fishermen interested in taking the 2-day course are urged to sign up as soon as possible.
