A prescription drug take-back program will take place on Saturday, June 18, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Coos Bay Fire Station, 450 Elrod, Coos Bay. The free, “anonymous” program is sponsored by Bay Area Hospital and the North Bend Medical Center. Not accepted: IV solutions, injectables, or needles. However, you can drop off expired, unwanted, or unused prescriptions, or over-the-counter medications for safe disposal. The event is in coordination with the North Bend Police Dept., Coos Bay Police Dept. and the Drug Enforcement Agency.
