UO release – EUGENE, Ore. — Defensive back Tysheem Johnson has been named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week and quarterback Bo Nix has earned Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week for the second time this season, the conference announced on Monday. Nix has now won Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Week five times in his career, tying Marcus Mariota for the most ever by an Oregon player. Johnson became the first Duck this season to receive Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week. Johnson pulled in two interceptions in Oregon’s dominant 35-6 win at No. 13 Utah, his first two interceptions as a Duck and first career multi-pick game. He became the first Duck since Bennett Williams in 2022 with multiple interceptions in a game. A junior transfer from Ole Miss, Johnson ranks second among Ducks this season in tackles (41) and is now tied for the team lead with two interceptions. He also has 2.5 tackles for loss, a sack and three pass breakups. Nix continued to bolster his Heisman Trophy resume against the Utes, completing 24-of-31 passes for 248 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for a score. Nix leads the nation with a stellar 78.3 completion percentage, and is on pace to break the NCAA single-season record of 77.4 held by Mac Jones (2020, Alabama). The Pinson, Ala., native is tied for fifth nationally with 21 passing touchdowns, ranks fourth in passer rating (178.56) and is 11th in passing yards per game (292.1).
