Mother cited and released for DUII and Assault resulting from a roll-over crash on I-5 where her children were injured. On Saturday, August 15th, 2015, at approximately 6:44 PM, a blue, 2004 Honda CRV with California license 6KFX971, was traveling northbound on Interstate-5 near milepost 16 when the operator, Michele A. Roux-Mantoan (age 34), from Carmichael, California, lost control of the vehicle. The vehicle crossed the center-median as it rolled several times and landed on its wheels, coming to rest on and blocking the southbound A-lane of travel. All four (4) occupants; the operator and three (3) juvenile passengers (ages 10, 5, and 1), were transported to Rogue Regional Medical Center (RRMC) in Medford, Oregon, by ambulance. The operator was wearing her seatbelt and suffered an injury to her left-hand. Both the ten and five year old children sustained serious injuries and were transported to RRMC. The five year old was later transported to OHSU. The one year old was properly secured in a rear-facing child seat and did not received any serious injuries from the crash. At this time alcohol is being investigated as a cause of the crash. The operator was cited and released for DUII, Assault II and two (2) counts of Assault III.
