DUII Elude on Hwy. 42, Nov. 1

News release Coos Co. Sheriff’s Office.  On October 30, 2016, at about 1626 hours, deputies attempted to stop a white 1998 Buick Riviera on Highway 42 near Adams St in Coquille. The vehicle was traveling 75 MPH in a 55 MPH zone. The vehicle failed to yield and continued on Highway 42 eastbound. The vehicle reached speeds over 100 MPH on Highway 42 towards Myrtle Point. The vehicle continued though Myrtle Point and towards Roseburg on Highway 42. Near mile post 24, the vehicle spun out and did a complete 360 degree turn and continued east bound. The vehicle continued at speeds of 65-85 MPH before coming to a stop near mile post 42.5 on Highway 42. The driver was identified as Kristina Perkins, 45 years old from Sacramento, CA. There was a male passenger who was detained during the investigation, but released after. Perkins was arrested for Elude in Vehicle, Reckless Driving, Reckless Endangering and DUII. At the jail, Perkins provided a breath sample of .10 BAC. Perkins was booked and lodged at the Coos County Jail. The pursuit was approximately 35 miles total. Deputies were assisted by Myrtle Point Police and Coquille Police Departments.
