News release CCSO. On June 18, 2017, at about 0031 hours, a deputy from the Coos County Sheriff’s Office stopped a vehicle being operated by Joseph Little at the Horsfall Sand Access in the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area for operating a motor vehicle after the curfew time of midnight. Upon contact, the deputy noted signs and indicators of impairment. An investigation for Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants was initiated and Mr. Little was ultimately arrested for that crime. Mr. Little provided a breath sample which showed him to have a BAC of .10 percent by volume. Mr. Little was cited for Operation in Violation of Restrictions (Curfew Violation) and Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants and released to a sober party. Mr. Little was processed at the Boxcar Campground utilizing a mobile DUII processing center provided by the Oregon State Police to combat impaired driving. The Coos County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Oregon State Police.
