Early Morning Fire off Libby Lane, Aug. 22

Coos Forest Protective Association (CFPA) responded to a fire on Libby Lane just two miles west of Coos Bay at 1:30 a.m. Friday morning. The fire was human-caused, but the specific cause of the fire is still under investigation. The fire started in a four-year old timber stand and burned 1/3 of an acre. Firefighters worked through the night to put out the fire by sunrise. Public use restrictions are in place across southern Oregon to help prevent human-caused fires like this, so please do your part to help prevent wildfires.
