Fatal on I-84, Aug. 17

A pedestrian died when she attempted to cross eastbound lanes of I-84 near The Dalles. According to Sergeant Raiser, on August 14, 2015 at 3:05 PM OSP Troopers responded to a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on I-84 near MP 85. Upon arrival, Trooper Holloran discovered Ms. Eunice Spino (age 47), from The Dalles, was struck by a vehicle and died at the scene. The eastbound vehicle was a 2011 Honda Civic driven by Ms. Lynoure Won (age 56) from John Day. Ms. Won is cooperating with the investigation. The investigation is still continuing but early indications suggest alcohol use, from Ms. Spino, was a contributing factor to the crash. I-84 was completely closed for approximately one hour and traffic was diverted through the City of The Dalles. One lane was open for the rest of the investigation.
