On Monday 27, 2018 at approximately 1:30 PM, Oregon State Police troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on US 101 at milepost 69. The initial responding trooper began administering CPR, on the driver, until medical personnel took over. The driver was transported to Tillamook Regional Medical Center where he was declared deceased. The preliminary crash investigation revealed a red / gray 2008 Kenworth dump truck, operated by James NEAL, age 66, of Siletz, was traveling southbound on US 101 when it is believed he suffered from a medical related incident. US 101 was reduced to approximately one lane of traffic at a time for approximately 30 minutes.
