Coos Forest Protective Association (CFPA) has responded to nine fires already this month. All nine fires are human-caused: Three fires were caused by recreationists, one fire was the result of equipment use, four fires were the result of debris burning and one fire is still under investigation. Fire season is in effect and fuel conditions are drying out quickly. It doesn’t take long with windy conditions for fuels to dry back out even after a little rain. CFPA wants to remind people that fire prevention is everyone’s responsibility when they are outdoors. For further information on closures and restrictions contact the CFPA Closure Information Line at (541) 267-1789, visit the website at www.coosfpa.net, or follow us on Facebook and Twitter.
