Defending 4A Far West League baseball champions North Bend has a three-game lead over second place Douglas with two-weeks remaining in the regular season. On Friday, North Bend beat visiting Brookings-Harbor 2-1 & 7-1. Douglas swept visiting Siuslaw 4-2 & 13-0 (5) at Winston, and South Umpqua took two from Marshfield 14-6 & 14-8 in Coos Bay. On Tuesday, Douglas (6-3) plays at Marshfield (6-3), North Bend (8-0) at Siuslaw (2-7) and Brookings-Harbor (5-4) at So. Umpqua (4-4).
