The 4A Far West League softball race is starting to shape up after week three. The leaders, South Umpqua and North Bend, both won their games Tuesday. The seventh ranked and defending league champions South Umpqua Lancers won in Coos Bay 13-0 over fourth place Marshfield (5) at Coos Head Field. North Bend (5-2), ranked eighth, beat visiting, and third place, Brookings-Harbor 11-0 (5-0) at the Oak Street Park Field. The other FWL game had last place Douglas winning at home over fifth place Siuslaw 8-1 in Winston. Doubleheaders on Friday have MHS (3-4) at So. Umpqua, NB at Brookings-Harbor (4-3) and Douglas (1-6) at Siuslaw (2-5) in Florence.
