Two weeks remain the 4A Far West League softball season and defending champion South Umpqua and North Bend have separated themselves from the other four conference teams. The two have already played each other with the Lancers taking the three-game series from the Bulldogs 2-1. Brookings-Harbor & Siuslaw are three games back of the Bulldogs, and four off the South Umpqua pace. On Friday, South Umpqua completed a sweep of Marshfield, 4-1, 12-2 (6), in Tri City. North Bend thumped up on Brookings-Harbor on the road 22-1 (5) & 12-0 (5). Siuslaw swept visiting Douglas 21-5 & 15-5 in Florence. On Tuesday, Marshfield (3-6) plays at Douglas (1-8), South Umpqua (8-1) at Brookings-Harbor (4-5), and Siuslaw (4-5) at North Bend (7-2). All are scheduled to start at 5 p.m.
