Help Available for Homes Destroyed by Wildfire, Aug. 25

Oregon Housing and Community Services announces the availability of financial help for homeowners who have lost their home due to wildfire. The Wildfire Damage Housing Relief Account can help low-income Oregonians by providing up to $7,000 in assistance. Homeowners affected by wildfire damage can quickly find out if they qualify for the program by visiting http://www.oregon.gov/ohcs/pages/wildfire-damage-housing-relief-program.aspx. To qualify, a homeowner must be an Oregon resident at the time their primary residence was destroyed by wildfire, and have an annual income that is at or below 200% of the federal poverty level, or approximately $49,200 for a family of four. Many types of homes are covered by the Wildfire Damage Housing Relief Account including stick built, site built, and recreational vehicles but it must be a primary residence.
