As forecast, much of Oregon experienced hot weather on Thursday. It was part of a high pressure system moving through th state. Cooler weather is forecast for the weekend, but still, seasonally warm. The North Bend/Coos Bay area broke a record with a reading of 91-degrees at the airport. That bettered the old mark of 79-degrees set in 1944. Newport, on the Central Coast, hit 86, and Astoria on the North Coast also recorded a 91. Much of the interior valley communities saw readings in the 90s.
