Due to extreme fire danger, Coos Forest Protective Association (CFPA) is imposing an Industrial Fire Prevention Level (IFPL) IV closure for all industrial operators for all protected lands in Fire Zones CS-1, CS-2, CS-4, CS-5. SK-1 and SK-2 effective immediately. The fire prevention closure will be in place through 12:01 a.m. Sunday, August 28th. The Regulated Use Closure for the public is still in place across CFPA’s protection district. With the extreme fire danger all non-industrial powersaw use is prohibited. The cutting, grinding, and welding of metal is also prohibited under the regulated use closure during periods of extreme fire danger, as well as the mowing of cured, tall grass. CFPA urges anyone that is going out into the forests to exercise extreme caution and to check with private landowners for any additional fire prevention requirements or closures on their lands.
