On Saturday, March 6, 2021 at approximately 1:00 P.M., Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a two vehicle crash on Hwy 101 near milepost 14. Preliminary investigation revealed that a southbound Dodge Ram 3500 pickup towing a large RV, operated by Donald Siglin (76) of Banks, crossed into the northbound lane and struck a Toyota Corolla operated by Hazel Nyberg (66) of Astoria. Nyberg sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Siglin was flown to OHSU were he was pronounced deceased.
