On Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at approximately 9:30 P.M. Oregon State Police Troopers and emergency personnel responded to a single vehicle crash on Hwy 58 near milepost 2. Preliminary investigation revealed that a Ford Ranger, operated by Rodney Axe (60) of Eugene, was eastbound when it left the highway and hit multiple trees. Axe sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased.
