On Saturday, October 5, 2019 at approximately 5:47 A.M. Oregon State Police and emergency personnel responded to the report of a single vehicle crash on Hwy 99 milepost 10.5 near Phoenix, OR. Preliminary investigation revealed that a 2002 Mazda, operated by Dakota Arthur (23) of Medford, was northbound at a high rate of speed when it slid sideways into a power pole. Arthur sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. The passenger, Danielle Ramirez (24) of Medford, was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
