Illegal Parking Arrest, Sept. 10

News release from the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office. On September 7, 2015 about 4:30PM, deputies with the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office responded to a report of an illegally parked vehicle near SE 35th St. and SE Leeks High Rd. in South Beach. While conducting follow-up on the complaint deputies made contact with subjects staying at a residence in the 3500 block of SE Leeks High Rd. Deputies learned several of those subjects had warrants for their arrest. They also located evidence of possession of a controlled substance. Newport resident, Robert A. Simer, 54 years of age, was placed into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. Simer was lodged on four outstanding Lincoln County Circuit Court warrants for Failure to appear on original charges of; Possession of controlled substance (Schedule II), Possession of methamphetamine, Driving under the influence of intoxicants, Failure to appear in the first degree and two counts of Criminal trespass II. Simer’s total bail was set at $157,508.00. Toledo resident, David A. Sigler, 46 years of age, was placed into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. Sigler was lodged on an Oregon State Parole Board warrant for a parole violation on original charge of Sexual Assault. Sigler was held without the possibility of bail. Sigler was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine. South Beach resident, Bruce R. Van Houte, 52 years of age, was placed into custody and transported to the Lincoln County Jail. Van Houte was lodged on Lincoln County Circuit Court warrant for a Failure to appear on an original charge of Driving under the influence of intoxicants. Van Houte’s bail was set at $50,000. Van Houte was also found to be in possession of methamphetamine.
