The unemployment rate for the five complete counties on the Oregon Coast improved between the months of November and October according to the latest figures released by the Oregon Employment Dept. Not only was the rate better than the previous month, it was also better than the previous year. In Coos Co. the jobless rate in November was 9.5%, better than the 9.9% in October and a full percentage point improvement over Nov. 2012. In Curry Co., the rate was 10.1% last month, down from the 10.4% in October, and more than a percentage point better than the 11.3% in November of last year. In Lincoln Co., the jobless rate was 7.7%, down from 8.0%, and down significantly from the 8.8% from Nov. 2012. In Tillamook Co., the unemployment rate in November was 6.6%, down from 7.0% in October, and 8.0% from the same month last year. In Clatsop Co., 6.3% of the workforce was unemployed last month, down from 6.6% the prior month, and the 7.5% recorded in Nov. 2012.
