The Canadian company behind the Jordan Cove Development Project has announced that it has requested a new hearing before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) in an effort to locate a proposed liquefied natural gas export terminal on Coos Bay’s North Spit. FERC denied the original request from Veresen Inc. back on March 11 citing a lack of demonstrated need, customers, for the LNG. However, Veresen has since signed contracts with two Asian customers that could buy up to half of Jordan Cove’s production capacity. FERC will now have 30-days to grant a new hearing or deny the request.
