Due to the restrictions on public gatherings, The League of Women Voters of Coos County is offering an alternative to the usual candidates’ debate forums. Candidates’ debates and candidates’ interviews will be available on the League’s website at my.lwv.org/Oregon/CoosCounty under the menu: VOTING & ELECTIONS, Debates and Interviews. Interviews with candidates for the following races are now posted: Coos Bay City Council: Lucinda Di Novo (incumbent); Drew Farmer (incumbent); Stephanie Kilmer (incumbent); Jim Kingsley; Cameron Langley; Cody Skoff. North Bend City Council: Levi Clow; Eric Gleason; Pat Goll; Ron Kutch; Susanna Noordhoff; Tim Slater (incumbent); Jonathan P. Vinyard. Debates for the following races should be available to watch on the League’s website soon after October 16: North Bend Mayor, Oregon Senate District #5; and Oregon House District #9. The League had intended to provide information to voters on the races for Coos Bay Mayor and Coos County Commissioner, but was unable to because only one candidate for each of those races accepted the League’s invitation to debate. Candidate forums are a voters’ service project of the League of Women Voters of Coos County. The League of Women Voters is a non-partisan political organization with a mission to encourage the active and informed participation of citizens in government. The League never supports or opposes any candidate or political party and aims to provide impartial information to voters about candidates’ views on issues, and to stimulate interest and participation in the election.
