News release CCSO.  On April 4, 2017, at about 2208 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to a reported robbery, near mile post 2 on Libby Lane in Coos Bay.  Jeramie Shilts, 27 years of age of Coos Bay called 911 and reported that a male and female that had given him a ride from the Casino in Coos Bay had threatened him with a large wrench and robbed him and left him on foot on Libby Lane. Deputies learned the suspect was James S. Johnson, 37 years old of North Bend and an unknown female.  Mr. Shilts reported that James Johnson had stolen a large sum of cash from him, before leaving him on the side of the road.  Deputies searched the area for the suspects and the vehicle they were in, a white large SUV, but were unsuccessful.   The Coos County Sheriff’s Office has issued probable cause for the arrest of James Scott Johnson; DOB 02/11/1980, 37 YOA of North Bend for the charges of Robbery II, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Theft II, who remains at large.   They are also seeking the identity and location of the associated female.  Anyone with information on the whereabouts of James Johnson, the associated female or further information regarding this case are encouraged to contact the Coos County Sheriff’s Office, (541) 396-2016.
