The Liberty Theatre, home of Little Theatre on the Bay, is pleased to announce auditions for Dorothy Meets Alice and Big Bad. Auditions are scheduled for November 7th and 8th at 7pm at the Liberty Theatre in North Bend. The show runs Feb. 10th – 26th Fri & Sat at 7:00 PM, Sun at 2:00 PM. If you plan to audition you must be available for ALL performance dates to be considered for this show. Auditioning people ages 7 and up. All actors should come prepared with a memorized 2 minute monologue and be ready to read from the script. Dorothy Meets Alice is a new play version of the delightful meeting of two of literature’s most famous young ladies unfolds when a young man puts off a book report till the last minute, then suddenly finds himself in a strange place somewhere between Oz and Wonderland. It then becomes his responsibility to unscramble the stories and steer the familiar characters—the Cowardly Lion, the Mad Hatter, the Scarecrow and the White Rabbit, among others—to their ultimate destinations while avoiding the Wicked Witch and the Red Queen. This hilarious, adventuresome romp is filled with laughter and surprises at every turn. And a couple of lessons emerge along the way as well. In Big Bad is the Wolf a villain or victim? The Three Little Pigs, Little Red Riding Hood, and The Boy who Cried Wolf are the plaintiffs in the case. Along with a few other witnesses they try to convince the Jury(the audience) of his guilt. The two attorneys, The Fairy Godmother and The Evil Stepmother question the witnesses to reveal the facts in this rollicking, fun-filled, action-packed trial-of-the-century. This adventurous play examines the guilt, or innocence, of the accused from different points of view and comes up with a surprising, yet eminently satisfying, conclusion in which no one escapes unscathed.
