Marshfield (2-9, 3-14) lost a 4A Far West League baseball doubleheader at Douglas (6-4, 7-9) in Winston Friday.  The Trojans prevailed 9-7, and 6-5 (8).  The South Umpqua at Siuslaw game was postponed Friday.  Sutherlin at Brookings-Harbor was rescheduled for Monday.  Last Tuesday’s postponed game at Siuslaw for North Bend was also rescheduled to Monday.

Douglas’ Cindy Dupper pitched a one-hitter and struck out ten as Douglas won game one of a 4A Far West League softball doubleheader in Coos Bay, 6-0, Friday over Marshfield (5-6, 8-10).  The Trojans (8-2, 11-3) also took the second game, 9-6, to complete the sweep.  In other FWL games, South Umpqua (11-0, 13-3) remains unbeaten in first place with a doubleheader sweep at home to visiting Siuslaw (3-7, 3-9), 10-0, 14-4 (5).  Brookings-Harbor (8-2, 14-3) is tied with Douglas for second.  The Bruins swept at Sutherlin (0-11, 0-18), 14-3 (5) & 14-4 (6).  North Bend (1-8, 2-11) had the bye.

North Bend’s boys won the eight-team Central Coast Invitational track meet at Florence Friday.  The Bulldogs tallied 164.5-points, while Philomath was second with 119, followed by Roseburg 98.5, Brookings-Harbor 95, Siuslaw 72, Dallas 64, Taft 29 and Sutherlin 9.  Dallas won the girl’s side with 136-points.  North Bend was second with 115, followed by Sutherlin 103, Philomath 90, Siuslaw 90, Brookings-Harbor 58, Roseburg 51 and Taft 14.  Individual winners for the Bulldog boys:  100 Matt Woods 11.26; 200 Wyatt Cunningham 22.95; 4X100 Relay (Luke Lucero, Matt Woods, Drew Matthews, Wyatt Cunningham) 43.90; SP Josh Kimble 44-08.50; HJ Wyatt Cunningham 6-00; PV Alex Backman 14-00.  NB girls:  1500 Gabby Hobson 5:12.75; 300H McKenzie Edwards 48.19; PV McKenzie Gauntz 10-00.  North Bend travels to the Dick Baker Invitational on Saturday, May 3.

Marshfield’s girls were eighth out of 48 teams at the 50th Centennial Invitational Saturday.  For the Lady Pirates, Adryana Chavez won the Triple Jump (36-10.25).  MHS results:  1500 Shaylen Crook 12th 4:56.87; 3000 Shaylen Crook 3rd 10:19.05; 4X100 Relay (Isabel Groth, Adryana Chavez, Hailee Woolsey, Brittany Cook) 6th 50.96; SP Karissa Irvin 13th 33-0.50; Tracee Scott 14th 33-00.50; Dis Tracee Scott 8th 111-0; Savannah Thurman 10th 106-10; Jav Karissa Irvin 13th 109-03; McKenzie Allison 14th 104-01; PV Taylor Mauer 14th 9-00; LJ 16th Isabel Groth 16th 15-00.50; TJ Adryana Chavez 1st 36-10.25.  MHS boys:  1500 Colby Gillett 12th 4:13.70; 3000 Colby Gillett 16th 9:05.63.  Marshfield travels to the Brookings-Harbor Twilight Meet on Tuesday, April 29.
