Visiting Marshfield pushed two runs across the plate in the first two innings to lead Taft (5-0-1) in a non-league baseball game in Lincoln City Wednesday, but the unbeaten Tigers exploded for four runs in the bottom of the third to take the lead for good en route to a 7-2 win. Tyler Campbell went the distance for the Pirates on the mound and struck out seven. He also had one of Marshfield’s six hits in the game. The Pirates (0-2) open Far West League play Tuesday, April 1, at home to Douglas.

Marshfield’s softball team fell to 1-3 with a 13-3 loss at Taft in Lincoln City Wednesday. The Lady Pirates open Far West League play at Douglas on Tuesday, April 1.
