Marshfield opened the 2018 SD-4 League play with a 31-10 win at home Friday over Cottage Grove in a rematch of the OSAA 4A Title game of last year in which the Lions won. The Pirates overcame four fumbles and one interception to improve to 3-1 on the season, while CG is 2-2. In the other league game Friday: Marist Catholic won at Elmira 15-2. Junction City at No. Valley non-league game was cancelled. Marshfield (1-0, 3-0) has the out-of-league game this Friday at Henley near Klamath Falls. League games have CG (0-1, 2-2) at Marist Catholic (1-0, 2-2) & JC (0-0, 0-3) goes to Elmira (0-1, 3-1).
