According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Tuesday, Aug. 28, 12:30 a.m., Simpson Park, “officer out with subject sleeping in shelter at location,” 38-year old Joshua Whelan arrested on Jackson Co. warrant charging Parole Violation. Transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

According to an entry on the North Bend Police log for Tuesday, Aug. 28, 4:17 a..m., 3000 block Sherman Ave., “RP report male subject at location and he is not suppose to be there, he is in garage. Female and kids locked in the house,” 43-year old James Wilson charged with Violation of Restraining Order and transported to the Coos Co. Jail at Coquille.

Entries on the NBPD logs for early Monday morning, Aug. 27. 6:33 a.m., Colorado & Cessna, “officers assist NBFD at location, contacted occupants of camp / warned for Reckless Burning.” At 6:37 a.m., 1800 block Waite St., “RP reported shopping cart with what appears to be either a bag or someone slumped over. Officer checked the cart, advised item is a sweatshirt propped up / UTL any owner of the cart in the area.” At 8:06 a.m., 1700 block Virginia Ave., “Harbor Lights request subject sleeping on property be asked to leave. Officers contacted the subject who agreed to get his things and leave.” At 8:37 a.m., 1300 block Sherman Ave., “Parks Dept. request officer trespass 2 transients in shelter who won’t leave when asked. Officers respond / subject issued permanent trespass from all NB Parks.” At 9:34 a.m., 2400 block Sherman Ave., “transient sleeping on porch, RP requesting transient to move along, RP then contacted officers at another call and informed them of problem, officers respond / contacted the subject who agreed to move on.” At 9:50 a.m., 2400 block Sherman Ave., “officer located syringe in area of location. Seized for destruction.”
