Booster Clubs
The North Bend Booster Club meets at noon today at the high school’s Hall of Champions. Cost of lunch is $7. The Marshfield Booster Club meets at noon at Abby’s Pizza in Coos Bay. Both luncheons are open to those interested in local high school sports.
Scott All State
Marshfield’s lone senior on the fall volleyball team was honored as an Oregonian newspaper All State Second Team member. Tracee Scott, who was also the 4A Far West League Player of the Year, was the only athlete honored with a selection from the Oregon Coast.
NBHS Cheer
North Bend High School Competition Cheer Team is having a garage sale Saturday, December 7th from 8am-1pm at the NBMS cafeteria. Any donations welcome. Please drop off Friday starting at 4:00pm.
MHS Meet the Pirates Night
Marshfield’s winter sports teams will be introduced on Wednesday, Dec. 4, 5 p.m., in the Pirate Palace on campus. Coaches and athletes in boys’ and girls’ basketball, wrestling and swimming will be introduced.
Ground Breaking Ceremony for Marshfield High School’s Heritage Hall
On December 4, 2013 at 5:00pm in the Pirate Palace the Heritage Hall Committee will be hosting a ground breaking ceremony for the construction of Heritage Hall. Heritage Hall is being established to celebrate the accomplishments of students and staff that have, in some way – large or small – been a part of the history of Marshfield High School. Upon completion, Heritage Hall will honor years of academic excellence, athletic achievement and national recognition by way of beautiful displays in trophy cases, decade murals and video presentations throughout the room. The groundbreaking ceremony is the official acknowledgement of the beginning of construction of Heritage Hall! Donors will be honored and recognized for their contributions in making this a reality. The celebration is open to the public.
Prep bowling
North Bend boys varsity bowling team ended up with 2701 total pins after 16 games of qualifying putting them in 4th place Sunday at Strike City in Eugene. After 8 games in the semi’s North Bend bowls 1420 to once again finish in fourth place. In the finals North Bend loses to Marshfield to put them in the roll off for 3rd against Thurston. North Bend loses to Thurston to finish the day in 4th for the tournament. North Bend Boys JV qualified 1st, with a score of 1689 after 12 games. The score was believed to be more than 150 pins from the closest team. Marshfield’s team ended up in second, but could not advance as they were a mixed team. In the finals the top four teams have a four game roll off and the high team takes 1st place. North Bend boys finish the day with their best game of the season 192 and took first place by an 80 -100 pin margin. The North Bend Girls Varsity Bowling Team finished in 3rd place. The Bulldog girls have finished 3rd at the last three tourneys.
