Oregon’s Fish Screening Task Force will meet Tuesday, Aug. 6 at the Town Place Hotel, 755 SW 13th Place, Bend from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The meeting is open to the public. In addition, the Task Force will tour several fish screening sites in the area on Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday, Aug. 7. The tours will begin after the meeting concludes on Tuesday, Aug. 7, and at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 8. Members of the public may attend the tours, but must provide their own transportation. The tour will conclude at noon on Wednesday. The Tuesday meeting agenda includes updates on the Fish Screening Program, a discussion and approval of a new fish screening “payment in lieu” pilot program, an overview of Upper Deschutes Basin, an overview of regional hydropower projects, and an update from The Dalles Screen Shop. There will also be updates from Task Torce members, and presentations from ODFW staff. The seven-member Fish Screening Task Force meets quarterly to advise ODFW on fish screening policies and issues. Task Force members represent agriculture, fishing and conservation, and the general public.
