Best time of year for bay crabbing – August through November are the best months of the year for bay crabbing, and biologists report crabbing is good in most Oregon bays and estuaries. Check out the monthly crabbing report for the most recent data. Never been crabbing? Learn how it’s done at the upcoming family crabbing workshops on Sept. 20 and 21 in Newport. Buoy 10 – the great fishing continues – The Chinook season at Buoy 10 may be closed but the coho fishing has been lights out. There is a three fish bag limit and last week the catch rate was as high as 2.2 fish per angler. And if you’ve never like the crowds associated with Buoy 10, there are half the number of boats on the water as there were before Labor Day.
