OR 126W 24-hour construction flagging starts Monday, April 15

ODOT release – All lanes will be open on weekends. WALTON — Beginning Monday, April 15, travelers should expect 24-hour flagging and lane closures through the OR 126W Florence-Eugene Highway work zone west of Walton. Crews are adding a westbound passing lane between milepost 32.36 and 31.56, from Walker Creek to Chickahominy Creek. The work zone will be active from Monday morning until Friday at noon, with flaggers and a pilot car controlling traffic. Expect delays up to 20 minutes. The road will be open with no flagging over the weekend. The road is being widened on both sides to make room for the additional lane. Crews are now building up the road base on both sides of the road and extending existing culverts. The project will also include new pavement, signs, striping, and guardrail. Where traffic is routed through or around a work zone, pedestrians, including those with disabilities, will also be provided routes through or around the work zone.
