Elliott Cary homered and Oregon State held an early lead but was unable to hold on in a 10-5 loss to UCLA Saturday afternoon at Jackie Robinson Stadium in LA. Down 2-0, the Beavers took a 5-2 lead in the fourth. Cary punctuated the inning with a two-run home run, the first of his career, and Kyle Nobach gave OSU (22-9 overall, 5-4 Pac-12 Conference) its first lead with a two-run single. Billy King had driven in the team’s first run on a bases-loaded groundout to first. The lead, however, did not last as the Bruins (23-6, 10-2) scored solo runs in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings to tie the game at five. Oregon State remains on the road next weekend when visiting Oregon at PK Park. The Civil War will open Friday night at 7:30 p.m. PT in a game televised on ESPNU.
