Remarkable offensive precision, particularly in the first half, propelled the Oregon men’s basketball team to an 82-64 victory over UCLA before 7,301 in Matthew Knight Arena on Saturday afternoon. The Ducks shot .623 for the game (33-of-53) and .692 from three-point range (9-of-13), just off the arena record for field-goal percentage but breaking the record for three-point accuracy. That included an amazing .750 overall in the first half (18-of-24), as the Ducks moved the ball as well as they have all season and consistently made the extra pass to find a teammate for an open shot. Three players ended up hitting every shot they took in the game, and five scored in double figures. The Ducks (14-6, 4-3 Pac-12) go on the road to face No. 7 Arizona on Wednesday (7 p.m. PT, Pac-12 Networks).

Gary Payton II had a memorable game on the day Oregon State celebrated his father’s historic 58-point performance as the Beavers edged USC 59-55 to sweep its weekend series against the Southland schools. The junior guard from Las Vegas scored 21 points, grabbed 10 rebounds, dished out two assists, had two steals and had the game-clinching steal and free throw in the final 10 seconds. It was his sixth double-double of the season and his 12th straight game with multiple steals. OSU (14-5, 5-2 Pac-12) plays at Arizona at 7 p.m. Friday in another Pac-12 Networks contest. The unusual Wednesday-Friday format is because the Super Bowl will be played in the Phoenix area next Sunday.
