This will be a listening session; members to share thoughts and experiences on equity. The Oregon Toll Program’s Equity and Mobility Advisory Committee will hold a listen and learn meeting on Monday, June 29, 2020 from 5:30-8:00 p.m. This will be a virtual meeting in response to Gov. Kate Brown’s directive on social distancing measures to slow the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the risk of exposure to our communities. Recent events in our community and across the nation have focused on the existence of systemic racism. Therefore, we will conduct this meeting as a listening session. Committee members can come together to share their thoughts and experiences. View the agenda (with instructions for joining the meeting) here. We welcome public comment at committee meetings. Facilitators will reserve 10 minutes to hear verbal comments and allot up to two minutes to each speaker. We also welcome written or verbal comments outside of meetings and will provide the comments to the committee. If we receive your comment by 11:00 a.m. the day before the meeting, we will send them to the committee members in advance. All comments received after 11:00 a.m. the day before the meeting will be provided to the committee at the next meeting. We will ensure that all written and verbal comments we receive prior to or at the meeting are included in the meeting summary. The Oregon Transportation Commission created the Equity and Mobility Advisory Committee to prioritize equity and mobility in designing the regional toll program. The committee will advise the Oregon Transportation Commission and ODOT on strategies for toll projects planned on I-5 and I-205. It will also offer guidance in solving problems with the regional transportation network and work to benefit historically and currently under-served and underrepresented communities.
