Oregon State Police (OSP) troopers arrested a 32-year old man Monday night after he allegedly assaulted another man, pointed a rifle at his wife, and then fired numerous shots east of Grants Pass. On February 24, 2014 at approximately 8:30 p.m., three OSP troopers responded to shots fired call in the 4600 block of Rogue River Highway east of Grants Pass. Prior to arriving, troopers were notified the suspect, JEREMY JOULSOHN, age 32, from Grants Pass, left on foot after assaulting a man. Witnesses reported to troopers that JOULSOHN was upset at his wife and pointed a loaded rifle at her before a witness and the suspect’s wife grabbed the barrel and pointed it in a direction away from any people in the parking lot. JOULSOHN reportedly fired numerous rounds from the rifle across the parking lot and toward Highway 99 (Rogue River Highway). Troopers found JOULSOHN at a nearby residence and took him into custody without further incident. He was lodged in the Josephine County Jail on the following charges: * Felon in Possession of a Firearm; * Unlawful Use of a Weapon; * Menacing; * Assault in the Third Degree; * Warrant – Fail to Appear in the Second Degree. The 34-year old male assault victim was transported by ambulance to Three Rivers Hospital for treatment of facial injuries.
