Pointing a Firearm, April 7

News release CCSO.  On April 5, 2017, at about 1800 hours, Coos County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to 92805 Persimmon Lane in Coos Bay for a reported neighbor dispute, were one neighbor had threatened the other with a shotgun.  Deputies made contact with David Rigney who stated his neighbor’s chickens were on his property and had asked the neighbor to remove them. Deputies learned the neighbor, 56 year old Anthony Lewis, had come over to the property armed with a shotgun and pointed it at Mr. Rigney and threatened to shoot and kill him.  Mr. Lewis told them, “I’m gonna kill you white trash.”  Deputies contacted Anthony Lewis who admitted to coming to the property armed with a shotgun, but denied make any threats.  Sheriff’s Deputies seized the shotgun involved, a Remington 12 gauge that was loaded with three shells. Anthony Lewis, 56 years old of Coos Bay, was arrested for the above listed charges and transported to the Coos County Jail, where he was booked and lodged.
