OSAA 4A Gbxb Tourney
Top-ranked Philomath (22-4) ran the field in winning the 2022 OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 4A Girls Basketball Championship Saturday night at Marshfield High School, Coos Bay. The Warriors beat 11th seed Corbett (23-4) 46-35 in the championship game. Madras (17-9) downed Hidden Valley (15-12) to take third and Baker (22-6) better Marist Catholic (17-9) for fourth.

OSAA 4A Bbxb Tourney
Second-ranked Cascade (22-3) beat top-ranked Junction City (24-4) 42-30 Saturday night to win the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union 4A Boys Basketball Championship at Marshfield High School, Coos Bay. Banks (21-7) downed Seaside (20-8) for third and Philomath (21-6) took fourth place with a 49-33 win over Stayton (19-7). Marshfield lost both of its games at the tourney. The Pirates (22-6) lost their opener Thursday to Banks 62-49, and then fell Friday in consolation play 67-55 to Stayton.

North Bend is scheduled to play at Marshfield, Coos Head Field, in the 2022 prep softball season opener for both schools at 4:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on FM 105.1, KMHS and streamed at www.kmhsonline.com
