Marshfield’s boys’ & girls’ track & field teams were both third at the 4A District 4 Championships Saturday at Junction City HS. Cottage Grove won the boy’s title with 146-points, Siuslaw second at 144, followed by the Pirates 123, Junction City 114, Elmira 79 & Marist Catholic 51. The girls’ championship went to Marist Catholic with 175-points, followed by Junction City 122, Marshfield 119, Cottage Grove 116, Elmira 60 & Siuslaw 49. North Bend’s track teams each placed second at the 5A Midwestern League District Meet Saturday at Eagle Point HS in Southern Oregon. Thurston won the girl’s title with 130-points, while the Lady Bulldogs were second with 94. Crater followed with 91.5, Churchill 85, Willamette 73, Ashland 57, Springfield 50, Eagle Pt. 43 & No. Eugene 39.5. Crater took the boy’s title with 155. North Bend was next with 110.5, followed by Churchill 102, Thurston 70, Willamette 62, Ashland 56, Springfield 45, No. Eugene 43 & Eagle Pt. 18.5. Rained out on Friday, Marshfield has been re-scheduled to play Siuslaw, at Florence, in a 4A District 4 doubleheader Monday, 3 & 5 p.m. broadcast on FM 105.1, KMHS. North Bend’s baseball team dropped a 5A Midwestern League doubleheader at top-ranked Thurston (15-1, 22-2), 10-0 & 5-0 Saturday. The Bulldogs (1-13, 7-15) are scheduled to host Thurston on Tuesday.

Marshfield’s girls are scheduled to end the 4A District 4 league season with a prep softball doubleheader at Siuslaw Monday, 3 & 5 p.m. North Bend lost to 5A Midwestern League games at Thurston Saturday. The second-place Colts (12-4, 17-7) won 6-3 & 5-3. The Lady Bulldogs (4-10, 8-13) are scheduled to host Thurston on Tuesday.

State prep golf championships get underway today at Quail Valley Golf Course in Banks for the 4A boys and at Eagle Crest, Redmond for the girls. The 5A girls are at Emerald Valley Golf Club, Creswell, and the 5A boys are at Trysting Tree Golf Club, Corvallis. The meets end Tuesday.
