Marshfield’s volleyball team won its pool play at the Cascade Tournament in Turner Saturday. The Lady Pirates then lost a close first round in the Gold Bracket to league foe Cottage Grove 2-0 (28-26 & 25-23). Marshfield beat Sweet Home 2-0 (25-20 & 25-17), Seaside 2-0 (25-16 & 25-7) and Molalla 2-0 (25-18 & 25-17). The Lady Pirates are scheduled to play Willamette at North Bend Saturday, Sept. 18 at 3:30 p.m. then a rematch with North Bend at 5 p.m. North Bend remains perfect on the season with a 3-0 sweep of visiting Siuslaw Saturday. The Bulldogs (5-0) are scheduled to play at Ashland on Tuesday, 6:45 p.m.
