Siuslaw’s cross-country teams swept the SkyEm XC Meet at Marist Catholic in Eugene Saturday. The Vikings boys took five of the top six places, led by individual champion Chad Hughes (Jr.) in 17:02.28 on the 5K course. Siuslaw tallied 16, followed by Marist Catholic with 53, Marshfield 80, Junction City 101 and Cottage Grove 139. Marshfield’s Jacob Calvert (Jr.) was the top Pirate in 18:19.58. Two-time State Runner-Up Anika Thompson (Sr.), Junction City, won the girl’s race in 18:08.10. Siuslaw took the team race with 19 points followed by Marist Catholic with 36. The rest of the league had incomplete teams. Marshfield’s Baily Wallack led the Lady Pirates in sixth place, 21:37.02. Marshfield has a Last Chance XC Meet on the Millicoma Trail on Saturday, March 27. The District Championships are April 1. North Bend held the Ferry Park Dual on Saturday. Junior Trenton Parrott led the boy’s 5K race in 18:12.6, while teammate Sara Slade, sophomore, won the girl’s race in 20:42.7. North Bend is scheduled to run Saturday, March27, at the Last Chance XC Meet.
