North Bend’s boys were 11th and Marshfield 16th at the Springfield Invitational Cross Country meet on Saturday. Crater won the team race, followed by Crescent Valley, Grants Pass and Siuslaw. Blake Byer (16:03.30) of Crescent Valley was the overall winner with North Bend’s Alexander Garcia-Silver second (16:26.10). Robert Kliewer led Marshfield in 46th (18:13.40). North Bend’s girls were 8th and Marshfield 9th. Corvallis won the team race. Senior Kaylee Delzotti led the Pirates with a 27th place finish (21:18.10). North Bend was led by Celeste Sinko in 40th (22:12.70). Marshfield runs Tuesday in the Cinnamon Roll Run at Buffington Park, Port Orford, and then Friday, Oct. 4, at the Fred Berkey XC Invite, Camp Magruder in Tillamook. North Bend runs Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Woahink Lake XC Invitational, Florence.
