Oregon’s governor announced on Wednesday that public schools in the state will not reopen this academic year. That throws the Class of 2020 into the wind, but school district around the state have been working on plans to help the seniors “cross the finish line.” Governor Kate Brown originally selected the date of April 28th to restart school, but the spread of the COVID-19 virus forced health officials to reconsider a date. Nearly all school districts in Oregon have been preparing for Distance Learning and the Oregon Dept. of Education says they will launch their plan April 13, 2020.
