According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 2.7-magnitude earthquake struck the Cape Mendocino area of Northern California Wednesday, Aug. 17, where two fault lines begin that run parallel with the Oregon Coast. The quake was recorded at 12:38 p.m. and was located 36km south to southwest of Ferndale, CA.
