A 3.7-magnitude earthquake shook the southern junction of the two fault lines that run parallel with the Oregon Coast. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located west of Petrolia, CA near Cape Mendocino in Northern California. Early Monday morning, Aug. 10, a 2.5-magnitude quake was recorded in the same area. The USGS located it west of Bayview, CA.
