Two earthquakes rocked the Cape Mendocino area of Northern California Tuesday, Dec. 17, where two fault lines begin that eventually run parallel with the Oregon Coast.  According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 4.1 magnitude quake occurred at 5:28 a.m., 21-miles west to southwest of Eureka, CA, while the second, a magnitude 2.9, was recorded at 8:51 a.m., 53-miles west to southwest of the Humboldt Co. Seat.
