A series of quakes at Cape Mendocino in Northern California, where two fault lines begin that run parallel with the Oregon Coast, continued on Friday, Jan. 30. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, a 3.0-magnitude quake shook the area at 5:19 p.m. and was located 37-miles south to southwest of Eureka, CA. A 2.6-magnitude quake followed at 8:55 a.m., 31-miles SSW of Eureka. A 3.2 and 2.5 magnitude quakes were recorded in the Lakeview area of South Central Oregon on Friday as well. A 2.7-magnitude quake was recorded on Sunday, Feb. 1, 5:04 a.m., 37-miles south to southwest of Eureka and that was followed by a 3.0-magnitude quake at 7:01 p.m., in the same area.
